I really enjoyed this new addition on the House of Night series and it truly did compliment the books. The stories were fun to read since it gives a new version of the ancient people we know so well. This book can stand alone from the books but I truly suggests the reader to be familiar with the house of night series before they read this because it will add to the effect of seeing the characters visually in a graphic novel.

I commend the dialogue in the novel because they are straight to the point and no unnecessary lines where added. I also love the way the characters were illustrated because they really did click or even improve the way I visualize them in my mind when I was reading the novels.

Lastly, this graphic novel did come out at the right time because along the road the house of night series did have its ups and downs for me and reading this increased my excitement for the next book. 

All in all, as a house of night fan this graphic novel is such a treat!

Lenobia's Vow by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Time really do travel fast and now as I go on with my life, I wake up and see that one of the series I'm following has another new installment. I remember reviewing about the previous house of night book "Destined" last October and it made such a good impression that I want to read more. Imagine my excitement when I saw "Lenobia's Vow" to be released soon.

Fast forward to a few months, I just finished reading "Lenobia's Vow" and it was an interesting story but, it could've been better. The speed on which the book was released was also how fast I've read it. Well it was a novelette after all but,  I've read more detailed and compact ones which made the shortness not an issue.

Lenobia is one of Zoey's, the protagonist in the House of Night installements, favorite teacher in her school. Basically the book tells about Lenobia's heritage and how she was able to reach America.  Add a typical love interest and an antagonist that's as predictable as a cartoon criminal.

 I guess some parts of the story just irritated me because it was predictable and maybe because it was the first book I actually finished this year due to work. Still, I would like to commend the authors for adding another interesting view about Lenobia's character but, I just hope they add more content and diverse from predictability to make the story more exciting.

Looking forward to more House of Night Books.

Destined and Devoted

I read two paranormal books this week. Each of them are part of an ongoing series. One is "Destined", the 9th novel of the House of Night series by P.C. Cast and Kirstin Cast and the other book, "Devoted" is the sequel to "Elixir" by Hillary Duff and Elise Allen. I'll just put some of my thoughts here.

This sequel is interesting to read. It plays with your emotions then leaves you wanting more.

It sounds like the series is almost finished. When I started reading the House of Night books years ago, I thought it would contain so many books in the series since each of the books contains Zoey's adventures for a very short span of time. Then, the next book will describe what happens a few days after that adventure. It's as if there's no end or very many books in the series. Despite all that there are House of Night novels that are really good and some boring.

This book I'll say is in the good side. It's one of the fast paced house of night novels I read. I recommend reading all the previous novels before this one.

I don't recommend this book to those who aren't interested in reading long Paranormal series but, if you want to experience again, a new version of vampires, this is it.
